Difference Between Crisco And Twinkies

Improved Essays
The data that we collected does partially prove our hypothesis correct. We thought that Crisco, Twinkies, and Jell-O would protect the egg from predetermined heights. We were wrong, the gelatin did not protect the egg from cracking. On our data table it states that the jell-o nearly protected the egg at 8 feet, but let the egg form multiple cracks at 12 feet. Contrary to those results, Crisco and Twinkies protected the egg at both heights; with both reaching 25 on our bar graph(which is equivalent to not breaking at all). All of the insulators that protected the egg during the 8 feet drop also worked on the 12 feet drop. Also, the “control” showed the same amount of damage on both heights as well. I can infer that the heights were not spread

In this experiment I attempted to created and study the affects of a egg in a hypertonic and hypotonic solution. To conduct this experiment I used the following materials: cups, eggs, vinegar, corn syrup, spoons and food coloring. To begin the experiment I placed three eggs in vinegar to dissolve their shells, leaving behind a thin membrane that allowed water to pass in and out of the eggs. The water molecules enter inside the eggs and the eggs begins to swell. Once the eggs have sat in the vinegar for two days I removed one from the vinegar, washed the eggs and placed it in the corn syrup.…

The hypothesis that the bubble population without help would have a type III survivorship curve was rejected because the survivorship curve of this population resembled a type II curve. It likely resembled this type of survivorship curve because the population was likely to die at any point in time, since there were no factors to inhibit or encourage the bubbles to pop, but once they hit the ground or any other obstacle, which could have happened randomly at any point in time, they popped. This population had fairly constant death rate from zero years of age to about eight years of age and from nine years of age to about fifteen years of age. The hypothesis that the soap bubble population with help would exhibit a type I survivorship curve was rejected because the survivorship curve of this population was actually between a type II and type III survivorship curve.…

CRASH TEST Aim The aim of this experiment was to perform a crash test and analyze the damage done to a dummy, when wearing and not wearing a seatbelt. Introduction Controls and Variables While performing this experiment there was one clear independent variable, which was the seat belt, as it was the only thing that changed during the experiment. As to have a fair test, that dummy had to be tested with both the seat belt on and off.…

It was also hypothesized that if we place an egg in a high sucrose solution, then it would shrivel up, making it a hypertonic solution. The products of this experiment prove this hypothesis to be correct. The results show that as time increased, the weight change of the egg decreased. This completes the hypothesis because the high sucrose solution caused the egg to lose liquid and shrink in overall…

Throughout the course of the semester we have learned how different variables in an environment can affect the growth, change, and behavior of an organism. Using this research as a guide we set out to design an experiment that would show a particular variable’s effect on brine shrimp eggs. After much debate we decided to use light wavelengths as the variable being tested. We wanted to see the difference in development in the brine shrimp eggs and the development after hatching when exposed to different shades of light versus no light.…

In Both Tartuffe and Candide, authors Voltaire and Moliere write in their own opinions on the corruption of institutional religion. Their opinions differ however in the fact that Moliere still accepts institutional religion, but wants the readers to be conscious of who they choose to be their religious leader. Voltaire on the other hand inserts certain characters and scenes that demonstrate his view that institutional religion is corrupt. Moliere did not appear to truly change institutional religion, but make people more aware of who they were choosing to follow. While Voltaire showed his readers all the other possibilities of religion and the possible positive outcomes of not following along with institutional religion.…

Did you know that Jell-O has been a part of American culture for over a century? Jell-O, a dessert made from prepared powder, is something that we, humans, eat everyday. To keep a solidify figure, the Jell-O requires gelatin as a part of its ingredients. For my experiment, I will be determining whether certain enzymes in fruits prevent gelatin from the process of solidification, and if there’s a way to still include these fruits without ruining the dessert. The research question of the project is: “Which or what fruits won’t be capable of being used in a gelatin dessert and why?”…
