Essay On Christian Humanism

God created all things in his image (Genesis 1:27). This is a Christian worldview. Christians believe that their God created them and all things. They believe that Christians are on this earth to do good work for their heavenly father. Secular Humanism believe many different things as to why we are on this earth but as a whole they do not believe in a God. Christians believe that this life on earth is only a mere second compared to the wonderful life after death. They believe this life is the life that they show their love for God and how much they trust and believe in his word. Christians do all of this so that they can spend everlasting life with him (Luke 23:43). Secular Humanism believe that you live this life and when you can no longer live off the body you have you die and become dust. They believe there is no life after this life. (Weider and Gutierrez, 2011, pg. 57-60).
Christians worldview is very different from the Secular Humanism about our place her on earth. Christians know that God created them to rule the world and everything living on it (Genesis 1:26). Christians also know that we are to use all things on earth for good such as animals to eat (Genesis 9:3). Secular Humanism however believe that everything on earth is equal such as animals and we shouldn’t harm them.

We are to read Gods word and have a relationship with God. Christians are supposed to look more and more like God and walk closer with him the more they learn and do his work while here on earth (Psalms 119:105). Secular Humanism do not believe in a God so they believe that we are just on earth to live the best life possible. The best life possible to a lot of Secular Humanism is how far they succeed at their jobs, their social status with other Secular Humanism and how much money or things they have. They live life for themselves (Weider and Gutierrez, 2011, pg

In regards to the play, "The Christians," by Lucas Hnath, the controversy the Christians vs. Christians, quarrel about the existence of hell. Ultimately, the idea that hell does not exist in the presence of Christianity seems absurd, since Christians deem the origin of evil behavior to be stored there. In another literary work "the philosophy of pitchforks," it also reassesses the image of hell. Pastor Paul did have a good point when he stated that the Bible "does not say hell" (Hnath 37). The poem also correlates with the mystery behind the truth about hell.…

As I was reading this article I was angry and felt as if i would not agree with anything said, however, once I regarded the time period and allowed myself to be open to the opinions of others, I began to see some similarities. They were few, but similarities nonetheless. I agree with Macarthur in the aspect of some psychologists disregarding the ability to be assisted by prayer, reading the Bible and meditation with God. I believe that those things are important and vital to finding peace and well as strength through mental and emotional difficulties. Practicing “Christian” Psychologists should never advise against them or promote activity that go against Biblical teaching.…

In terms of competing with one another we work together to have success and survive in our world. Secular Humanism’s morality first start with the inner values of their inner being. They feel that they feel they must value themselves before anything or anyone else: then they can value everyone around them or in their lives: friends, family, and/or spouses. The Closest ones to them first and next they value their community and tribes.…

The sacred secular divide can be very hard to explain it is something that puts a shadow over everything in life, what it actually is, is a false worldview and can be very bad for Christians it is basically the difference between a Christian way of thinking and a worldly way of thinking, also things like buildings even have more importance such as in the Christian worldview church’s and places like that are more important and in the worldly way of thinking it’s school’s and businesses. If anything though it’s more about the distinction you make. When it comes to our relationship with God there are more important distinctions to make, and important is what we do for God not what are job is as long as it’s not against him. The way that a Christian…

“The Universe Next Door” by James Sire provides insight into the various opposing worldviews society faces today. Beginning with the Pre-Modern thoughts that believe in God’s existence, spanning to the Modern view placing matter in the center of reality, and concluding with the Postmodern thoughts which deny the existence of reality. Throughout the semester we have discussed several of these viewings of the world, noting some views appear to be more practical than others. With the use of Sire’s eight fundamental questions I would like to compare and contrast the Pre-Modern thoughts of the Christian Theistic worldview to the Modern thoughts of the Naturalistic worldview. Beginning with Sire’s first question “what is prime reality-the really…

One can say that Christians should be a steward towards environment and how they conserve it; since the environment belongs to God and without God the world will not exist. God expect his children to grow and develop the way of being stewards. We need to take pride in our work. When we look at the earth we see how the earth is separated from day to night, how the animals coincide with one another in different places “land or sea.” The earth had many different civilization we go by; from nationality, cultures, religion, etc.; that coexist with one another.…

The Love of God God is the creator of all life and he is the highest of all powers, he embodies all ‘persons’ (The Father, The Son, and The Spirit). Although we cannot be as him, we should try to follow his guidance. In this world, it is easy to get wrapped in earthly things. We are humans, and many of times we fail by trying to hold a certain status, gain certain materialistic possessions, and cause great emotional/physical harm to one another. In my beliefs, that is not the way one should live.…

As a society, we choose how to respond to them based on our moral virtues that develop from our upbringing. According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, “Morality is beliefs about what is right behavior and what is wrong behavior.” As humans, we tend to justify what is right and wrong. Being raised in the Catholic faith, I was taught the ten commandments which comes from the Holy Bible.…
