After discussing common factors of poverty, it’s important to look at poverty statistics, social attitude towards it, poor children opportunities and marginalization quality separately in the US and in Georgia.
Nowadays, “more than 16 million children in the United States – 22% of all children – live in families with incomes below the federal poverty level – 23550$ a year for a family of four. In the developed country people look at poverty as individual failure rather than the problem of economic structure. They think that poor people are laze, unintellectual, uneducated, have addiction problems, etc. In Georgia, most people have been in poverty at some stage of their lives and therefore, most of them understand how hard is to be poor and even more how hard is to be socially isolated as well. Consequently, marginalization quality in developing country is less than in the developed country, but children still have lots of psychological and behavioral problems because of poverty. In the USA, there are many researches and the government and people try to take into consideration factors other than money, however, in Georgia, because yet a lot needs to be done for country’s development, most programs are motivated about giving material things to poor people. Although, each individual of population separately tries to do different activities than just giving money to support poor children. People are really hospitable, and if they see poor child in the street, what most people do is take them home, eat, and talk to them, even play with them. However, we don’t have much advance with fighting against poverty in Georgia yet, because first what we need to do is develop country economically, in order to reduce unemployment.

Their lives are wasted. Some of them could become successful lawyers, doctors, professors, etc. But they died, that’s not fair, they have right to live. If we don’t care about so many wasted lives, there still are reason why we should be concerned about poverty.
Children in poverty usually have health problems and as we know it’s easy for illness to spread quickly around the country. If we don’t care about them, at least we care about ourselves and this can create a problem for us too. Second reason, can be crime problem. Sometimes, because of mental problems of poor children and because they want to get something they do criminal activities, such as burglary. In addition, if these children have opportunity to work this will increase total income or GDP of the country too.
Therefore, apart of being worried about poor children and realizing that these children are important and we owe them life with opportunities and at least without fear about tomorrow, there reasons why we should care about this
