Difference Between Anesthesiologist

An anesthesiologist is a specialized doctor, either M.D (doctor of medicine) or D.O (doctor of osteopathic medicine), who gives anesthesia or sedating medicine to patients for medical procedures. Before any of the medical procedures start, you make an interveiw with your patient by looking at their medical history, allergies, finding out their preferences, etc. You must be with your patient before the surgery, after the surgery, and help them in the process of recovering. Mainly, all medical doctors in the United States of America must pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE). In order to be qualified to take this test you must first get your diploma from high school, graduate all four years of college and any other additional schooling, go to a residency school for additional training in anesthesiology, complete a fellowship training to earn a subspecialty certification in either critical care medicine, pain medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, pediatric anesthesiology, and sleep medicine. All of this may add up to more than 10 years of schooling, and every 10 years anesthesiologist must complete a recertification exam at least one time in order the meet the standard board certification. There are many different kinds of degrees that anesthesiologist can get over the many years of schooling they accomplish the most common ones are fours years bachelor's degree, degree in medicine (M.D.), and osteopathy (D.O). These degrees are very similar that only difference in the way they are trained and their philosophy on caring for patients. At Harvard University they offer a program for this upcoming year that help with comprehensive understanding of the latest advances, anesthesiologist learn way to reduce stress when learning the anesthesiology guidelines, and recommendations that are specifically incorporated in the updated strategies.
