First person shooters. The pinnacle of game achievement. These games help kids learn to process their environment in a timely manner and decide what to do first to accomplish a certain task or goal. “Action games like shooters are the only games that are helpful to kids over strategy games or role playing games. They don’t use it as a release of healthy aggression into a video game, so that way people don’t get hurt or the person feeling the emotions get hurt by their own self. This small percentile of the population that play these games use the games as a way to get ideas of what they can do to others. This is the reason the games are rated M. It is because the game creators think that most people are mature enough to play on there own. Parents are able to buy these games for their kids because they trust that the adults will be able to make the kids realize that the games are false, and that they can not do these things in real life. As one wise parent told our author, “I read books and other things about people doing horrible things to each other. This does not mean that I am likely to go out and kill the neighborhood right? When you see the news about someone who flipped out and when on a crime spree because of “violent video games” is only about 5,000 out of 23,855,311 (.000209%) of gamers that play first person shooters. Video games help the human mind become better. Faster. More adaptive, able to respond to situation as it arises. They improve sensorimotor control, and logical thinking. Cognitive thinking is improved by video games which can help kids in the real world do jobs more
