A role model is someone who is a leader and intelligent. A role model is also someone who is hardworking. Role models are people who you want to be like. Dietrich Bonhoeffer should be thought of as a great role model because he was a good, respected writer, he didn’t always just follow the crowd, and he was a martyr since he died for what he believed in.
Bonhoeffer was a good, respected writer, which is an important trait for a role model to have. According to an article I read called “Exploring Bonhoeffer’s Writings” by Clifford Green, it said that Dietrich Bonhoeffer has written around 13 documents and books about theology, which are now being republished into 16 volumes in German. Bonhoeffer’s two best-known books are The Cost of Discipleship

According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia it says that when the Gestapo found out about “Operation Seven”, which was an operation to help get Jews out of Germany, they arrested both Bonhoeffer and his brother-in-law Hans von Dohnanyi in April of 1943. They found out that Bonhoeffer was also a part of the resistance circle, so they moved him to the Gestapo prison that was in Berlin. In February of 1945 he was moved to Buchwald, then in April they moved him to the Flossenburg concentration camp. On April 9th of 1945 he was hanged. Bonhoeffer strongly believed in his cause and he risked his life for it, which is a very courageous thing to do. This further proves that Bonhoeffer is an amazing role model.
Some people say that Dietrich Bonhoeffer is not a martyr because he didn’t die because of his Christian faith, but because he was caught for rescuing Jews and plotting against Hitler. However, what Hitler was doing, killing Jews, is against Christian faith and Bonhoeffer was stopping something that went against his faith and he died for it, which is what a martyr does. After reading this you can disclose that Dietrich Bonhoeffer is a great role model because he valued, superb writer, he didn’t support anything that went against his beliefs, and he died for what he thought was

It is interesting how you have quoted Karl Barth in your writing, for recently I have been reading an exuberant biographical book on Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas entitled Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy: a Righteous Gentile Vs. the Third Reich, which reveals that Karl Barth influenced the great theologian Bonhoeffer . Conversely, Bonhoeffer truthfully said, “… [I]n the Bible God speaks to us.” Therefore, since I believe that the Bible is God’s revelation, I believe in what Bonheoffer said when he said that in the Bible God speaks to…

Historical figures are often portrayed as being either villains or heroes. Rather than acknowledging the complexity of the person, many characterize individuals as simply good or evil. However, this is a grave mistake as people have both negative and positive traits about them. Such is the case with the Nazi German Officer, Captain Wilm Hosenfeld. Although Hosenfeld was a Nazi officer who initially enthusiastically supported the Nazi Party, he was later appalled at crimes that were being committing.…

Being that I am a Lutheran, without his movements against the Roman Catholic church, the Protestant reformation may not have happened, or at least might be very different without his efforts. I suppose that means that his greatest legacy started with the posting of the 95 Theses, which started the reformation. 2.…
