There is no middle ground in the “getting in shape” of the world today thanks to the way that society portrays what is the “perfect” body image, but everybody is different. What looks good to one person may not be as appealing to the person across the room. There is no said physique for each person, so why does society in every magazine have the guys portrayed to be well built with a deep, dark tan and the women skinny as a toothpick? With the right diet and the right amount of exercise a person can feel completely comfortable with the way they look and control how they take care of their body without having to feel insecure for not looking like these billboard images of what everyone is, “supposed” to look like.

Yes, one may argue that it will take longer and be more difficult than using the quick and easy way by using laxatives, making oneself vomit, or not eating at all. But by choosing to diet and exercise on a regular basis one can increased their chance of living a longer and healthier life compared to being bulimic or anorexic where one’s life span shortens. By dieting and exercising on a regular basis not only does one have control over their body weight but one also reduces many health risk factors. For example, one can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, the risk of type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome, reduce the risk of some cancers, and even reduce the risk of heart attacks. Not only does it reduce the risk of health factors but it also increases their mental health and your mood, strengthens their bones and muscles, and improves their ability to do daily activities and prevents falls as you get older. By having regular exercise one will boost their endurance by delivering more oxygen and nutrients to their tissues and help their cardiovascular system work more efficiently. Every little thing counts and nothing goes un-accounted for when it comes to improving ones health. People perceive what it takes to get in shape and stay healthy as next to impossible to where they make every excuse they can to keep them from doing it the healthy way. They either don’t have the time or the money or any way to do it so they settle by hurting their body to get these results instead of rewarding it to get them. Achieving the physique one wants is inspiring and places one into an even better, more cheerful mood when he or she starts to see oneself sculpt their body into the body that he or she wants it to be. So being healthy can be an amazing thing, or it can be a depressing thing. Just depends how one takes a swing at
