The Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is in charge of credentialing for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), however, they also strive to provide dietetic professionals with resources and paths for enhancing their continual education, learning, and growth. One tool that assists practitioners is the Professional Development Portfolio (PDP) which consists of 3 steps. The first step takes you through an in-depth list of questions which allow for self-reflection and goals for your future career. These questions, once answered, are tabulated and then a competency profile is created. The competency profile assesses the relevant competences that are needed for the development and growth within your dietetics career. Next you choose
