One day, Rams' friend told him about in-house architect position in Braun company. Dieter Rams didn't know a thing about this company, but he decided to apply for a job anyway.
The young architect had no clue that his work would be crucial for design history and that it would become an inspiration for younger generations.

Dieter Rams used tracing paper for his first design thanks to fast copied projects, it was easy to compare it to the other ones.
Much of the importance was attached to the creation of test models in order to test ideas developed by other departments in Braun such as Research and Development Department.
The design team set up its own highly specialised model-building workshop.
Between 1955 and 1995 the company manufactured and sold over 1200 products. Rams designed over 500 of those products.
Dieter Rams felt like he does not want only to be stuck in electric device designing, he wanted to expand his abilities and ideas, thus he did not decide to leave from his current position in Braun and in the same time he started a new career as a furniture designer.
