Dietary Changes In Offseason

If an athlete would like to lose weight or alter body composition it would be recommended they attempt any dietary changes during the offseason of their sport. Changing diet during the offseason would allow the athlete to get accustomed to new eating habits and being able to keep them once the athlete’s season starts. Some strategies that may aid in weight loss is practicing portion control by simply reducing the amount of food consumed during each meal. Athletes can also choose to eat more nutrient dense, low-calorie foods such as fruits, vegetables, grains, and leaner protein options. Eating more frequently may also aid in keeping metabolism and energy on a higher level. If an athlete eats about 3-5 times per day every 3 to 4 hours it
