Fast-food is a very cheap and fast to get before dinner or during lunch, but is it really good for our bodies or kids? The fast food industry is fueling a health crisis. Today, the deadliest killers in the United States are diet-related diseases. For example McDonald’s is driving in billions of dollars while kids are being hooked on unhealthy food. Nearly one in three children born in the year after 1999 will develop type 2 diabetes in their lifetime because of the diet. Mostly this number is rising in the community of color. An unhealthy diet contributes to blood pressure in children causing changes in the body which are associated with the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and obesity. During childhood and adolescence’s the adoption of habits such as unhealthy diets , no exercise as well as tobacco and alcohol use has been shown to increase the risk of developing certain chronic diseases. A higher calorie intake in childhood is linked to an increase of cancer no wants cancer! Taking care of your body should be a priority that you’re scared to mess up. Nutritional recommendations are to not smoke or drink alcohol or even have a higher calorie intake. Diabetes is a disease that is linked to the hormone insulin which regulates levels of sugar in the blood. The conducted observation that I’ve seen is kids and adults each so much sweets with caffeine and later on in life is diagnosed with diabetes. Instead we should eat on carrots, or nuts as a snack. The learning outcome is to be careful with fast-food and eat
