Though the food and diet industry poses a great opponent, document #1 takes the win for the significant amount of evidence illustrated. To start off, one of the first supportive pieces of evidence that document #1 mentions is a study on how diet drinks can cause more harm than good. “However a new 14-year study of 66,118 women (supported by many other previous studies) found that diet drinks may be worse than sugar-sweetened drinks.” By making reference to a study that supports his argument, it helps establish a strong sense of credibility. It is evident document #1 is not just basing its information on nothing, which in return establishes additional credibility to its argument. It is also evident by referencing this study that professional experts specialized in this specific field share the same perspective. Though this aspect of his research had its flaws and was limited in varying perspectives, this still is a larger amount of support than the food and diet
