Diet Coke Effects

Decent Essays
Diet Coke is just as harmful as regular Coke, maybe even worse. Just by drinking one a day can cause you to get addicted to the drink, after all that is what the company is trying to do to make their money’s worth. Diet Coke does not rehydrate you though that is what you think it's doing, it actually dehydrates you and deplete your nutrients. As it becomes a habit your body becomes addicted to it asking and craving for it more. Drinking This can increase the cause of high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. The dangerous duo of caffeine and aspartame is similar to how cocaine works.

So, if you open a bottle of soda gently, you get a pleasant beverage. If you shake the can first, you disrupt the solution and the soda goes every where when you open it. If you add a big enough surfactant, you get a geyser.…

This ultimately places one at risk for several medical problems such as diabetes (Vartanian). The high glycemic load from the sugar in soda increases the insulin resistance of cells, therefore increasing the risk for diabetes (Brownell).…
