Die Rag For My Song: A Song By Country Joe And The Fish

For this weeks discussion post this week, I chose I Feel Like I'm Fixin' to Die Rag for my song. The song is by Country Joe and the Fish; the song is very different than most in 1965. The song protest the Vietnam War and pushed blame on the politicians and the Military Industrial Complex at the time. It really captures a different aspect of the American spirit that is not seen to often. I found it very interesting after researching a bit, I found that the artist had actually been discharged from the military after three years of service. The song expressed the thoughts of people that were attempting to dodge the draft at the time. Besides an interesting listen, I found that it had a huge effect on history. It paved the way for other
