As far as i know, it has been reported that several languages become extinct every year. However, some people care nothing about this phenomenon because they think it can reduce barriers between people who has different culture background. But in my point of view, the disadvantages is outweigh the advantages. It does help to make the world closer but does it really contribute to our culture?
As we all know, language plays an important role in the formation of culture and the loss of language may lead to the loss of culture. So, protect language is the priority problem of protect our culture. Some people hold the optimistic attitude toward the died out of languages. They think that the existence of a lot of languages prevents them from express their thought freely. In some ways, different languages are a certain barrier for our communication. Even there were only one single language in the world, people would still find it hard to communicate with each other. The other reason of to save the nearly extinct language is very significant is that in current years, many university have set up translation majors. We should cherish it and make it flourish instead of watch it die slowly with doing anything. Overall, our concern should not be whether the extinction of language is good or not, but how to preserve those languages on the brink of
