Fan Theory: Did Hagrid Know That Voldemort Unintentionally Made Harry A Horcrux?

Theories about characters and other subjects within the Wizarding World have existed for years. However, there is one that hasn’t been considered. Did Hagrid know that Voldemort unintentionally made Harry a Horcrux?

Let’s take a look at the facts.

The Facts - Common Ground • Voldemort (when he was Tom Riddle) and Hagrid went to school together. • Both were orphans. Tom Riddle’s father abandoned his wife and unborn son. Tom’s mother died in childbirth. Hagrid’s father died when Hagrid was in his second year at school. Hagrid’s mother left her husband and son when Hagrid was young. • They were sorted into opposite houses. Riddle was sorted into Slytherin. Hagrid

Riddle was born 31 December 1926. Hagrid was born on 6 December 1928. • Riddle was the reason Hagrid was expelled from Hogwarts • Both have relationships with Harry. Riddle (as Voldemort) is Harry’s enemy. Hagrid is Harry’s friend and a father figure. • Both had strong bonds with Harry in different ways. Voldemort tried to kill Harry on more than one occasion. Hagrid was the one to take him to his Muggle relatives and he was there for many highlights in Harry’s life.

What Makes This A Theory?

Anyway, we know that Harry wasn’t intended to be a Horcrux. He became a Horcrux when Voldemort’s killing curse rebounded.

The reason this is a theory is because of a single line of dialogue the Philosopher’s Stone film.

“Yes. That ain't no ordinary cut on your forehead. A mark like that only comes from being touched by a curse, and an evil curse at that.” -

One of these curses was the same spell that killed James and Lily: Avada Kedavra. However, what if Hagrid knew that there was more behind it? What if he somehow knew that there was a reason why Harry survived the Killing Curse? What if he knew that Lily’s loving sacrifice wasn’t the only reason Harry became The Boy Who Lived?
Evidence - For • Voldemort calls a temporary ceasefire during the Battle of Hogwarts. He wants Harry to sacrifice himself. Harry says his goodbyes to his friends, leaving them devastated. He then goes into the forest to meet his fate. • Hagrid, who is being held captive by Death Eaters, begs Harry not to sacrifice himself. It would seem that Hagrid knew something was wrong the moment he saw Harry. He is later released and takes Harry’s body back up to the castle, much to the grief of everyone else.

Evidence - Against • There was no other indication that Hagrid knew that Harry was a
