The natural way for any economics major is the path of banking, finance, and investment. The options for economic majors in banking and finance come as wide and wealthy as the area itself. Many jobs are used to uphold the banking community, and for each division, there are duties and responsibilities, no matter whether it varies or not. But every single one allows economics majors the opportunity to utilize their college-honed analytical skills (Camenson). Bank officers are given jobs in cities of various sizes throughout the United States (Bank). You will not need any certification or licensing at all (Voss). Though that is true, the key preparation for any banking officer would be a bachelor’s degree in social science, along with a master of business administration degree (“Bank”). for any higher up job, you will need a supervisor master’s degree, and any lower level, more beginner-type job requires a manager level bachelor’s degree (Voss). A few good personality traits you can have for any banking job, but especially for any up-front occupation, are that you should be pleasant, efficient, and dependable (“Bank”). Finance is important in every firm, whether in manufacturing, communications, finance, education, or healthcare, to name a few. Different jobs or careers with finance would be involved as treasurers, controllers, credit managers, or cash managers. A few more related jobs include vice presidents, bank branch managers, savings and loan association managers, consumer credit managers, and credit union managers (Canenson). All of these are usually connected to the affairs of their communities, and are needed as directors of local companies and organizations. But this often means the employees spend evenings away from home at meetings and functions connected to their position (“Bank”). If you have a job like senior mortgage manager, you will most definitely be happy with the leadership and ability to change and set policies. A few more advantages at any banking job is that you are able to help people achieve the dream of home or car ownership, or extra interest cash in the bank. You will enjoy the excitement that people get out of that. The small disadvantage, though, are those 2 or 3 percent that have a change of circumstances and have to cancel a loan or mortgage offer (Voss).
