Did Donald Trump's Death Of A Soldier Die Justified?

Decent Essays
I believe that soldiers did not die just so people can decide who is more American than others. I believe they died fighting for our right to live freely and truly. I believe they died so that we would not have men tell us what to do and how to be a patriot. They fought for the best thing about America: freedom. There is nothing more simple and more inalienable than our right to express our thoughts and to be free. That is why I find it ridiculous Donald Trump wants players fired for expressing themselves. I believe that he does not view the kneeling as a sign of disrespect for the country, but he finds it as a disrespect toward himself and everything he stands for. Otherwise, he would have viewed the neo-Nazis in Charlottesville as a symbol

This has caused a lot of controversy on whether it was disrespectful or honorable, I have to say that I mostly agree with Kaepernick’s decision. Kaepernick stated in an interview “getting paid leave for killing people. To me, this is something that has to change and when there is significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it is supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way it’s supposed to, then I’ll stand”.…

Now I know what you’re thinking, what’s really the big deal about kneeling? Looking at the direct action we see that there is virtually no harm, however, when we look at the broad picture, we see otherwise. Base of Conflict Most Americans have begun choosing their side. Most NFL members have chosen to either remain in the locker room such as the Pittsburgh Steelers in order to avoid this absurd conflict, or they have chosen to stand individually. Some argue that they are kneeling during the anthem in order to protest for “Black Power” because they feel that they are oppressed in today’s society.…

Colin Kaepernick is a name that has been heard a lot recently during the past football season, not because of his skills on the field, but because of his refusal to stand during the National Anthem. Although his reasoning behind the act was innocent, protesting against police brutality, he faced a lot of grief because of it. This situation is no different from when students decide to sit during the pledge of allegiance. Students should not be crucified for exercising their first amendment right of freedom of expression. Also, the pledge does not hold much truth and can be discriminatory towards certain religions.…
