He eventually moved and had a printing business that was doing well. In 1749, he retired from his business and began focusing science, observations, and innovation. This was not a sudden shift, for the reason being that in 1743 he created a heat stove that would help warm houses. Benjamin’s invention was named the Franklin stove after him. In addition, he designed swimming fins, the glass harmonica, and glasses. In the 1750’s, Benjamin chose to research electricity, hence the kite experiment with a key during a thunderstorm.
