Lewis, a young girl, at the tender age of two and half years old, inadvertently fell or stepped on the defendant’s dog’s tail as a result of playing ‘crack-the-whip’ in the defendant’s backyard. In response, the dog, whose attention was occupied by chewing on a bone, pawed the young girl in the left eye thereby permanently damaging a tear duct in said eye. When the statute was administered to the factual evidence of the case, it was determined that only three out of the four criteria for determining liability were fulfilled. Despite the plaintiff urging otherwise, the court determined the young woman’s actions, no matter how inadvertent they may have been, constitute provocation in the state of Illinois. The court found the defendant’s young age (two and half years) to not absolve her, and went on further to claim the dog’s reaction to the defendant stepping on the tail is a perfectly reasonable…

The court finding regarding the Statue of limitations is two years instead of one along with the Oregon legislature. Furthermore, not an employment operation. The covert defendant’s motion to ADA and Rehabilitation and a right to state a claim is denied for Lowry but T.L. states an IIED claim. According to the viewpoints of Dickens and Tocqueville, solitary confinement had its pro’s and con’s. Some of the differences between each account is that for one Dickens mentioned that the Eastern Penitentiary system “is rigid, strict, and hopeless solitary confinement” (Dickens 2). He felt the purpose of this system was cruel and wrong. As mentioned, Dickens story is a first-person narrative.…

In this passage I predict that we will find out that Ricards “uncle” is on the run and hiding from the law, and later in the book he will get caught by the authorities and arrested. Which will have some kind of a big impact on Richard and his family. Some of these impacts I predict that could happen are, the authorities will arrest Richards mother and his aunt due to the fact that they were letting this man into their house and hiding him from the police. If this predicted situation happened to Richard and his family, it would leave Richard and his little brother without parents forcing them to live in an orphan home again. Going back to the orphan home would most likely make Richard furious and sad, considering the fact that the first time he was at the orphan home he hated it with a…

The defendant Lee Robinson is charged with manslaughter. As the defendants actions leading to the offence did not constitute acceptable behaviour and that the result ended up with a man loosing his life because of Mr. Lee Robinson actions the maximum penalty for manslaughter in the UK is a life sentence. Despite the severity of his crime in the criminal courts a defendant may be able to reduce their sentence by co-operating after the fact. In the Uk a life sentence is 20 years imprisonment before the defendant is eligible for parole. In certain cases the sentence for crimes may be reduced depending on certain factors and conditions.…

Fagin represents a time in London that was corrupt, disorganized, and old. Dickens emphasizes the old London in Fagin by connecting him to the streets, he states, “The mud lay thick upon the stones, and a black mist hung over the streets; the rain fell sluggishly down, and everything felt cold and clammy to the touch. It seemed just the night when it befitted such a being as the Jew to be abroad. As he glided steadily along, creeping beneath the shelter of the walls and doorways, the hideous old man seemed like some loathsome reptile, engendered in slime and darkness through which he moved, crawling forth by night in search of some rich offal for a meal” (153). Just like Saffron Hill, Whitechapel is described as an area of darkness and filth.…
