Diary Of Anne Frank Symbolism

Decent Essays
The symbolism in The Diary of Anne Frank is Anne’s diary. The diary symbolizes Anne’s life and the hope she has. Anne still has hope that once the war is over, she wouldn’t have to spend Hanukkah in hiding, but at home. The author wrote,”We are all here, alive. That is present enough (Mrs. Frank). No, it isn't. I've got something (Anne)...” (Page 737 Goodrich & Hackett). This symbolizes that Anne still has hope and that she has gotten everyone a gift, even though no one else had thought of getting gifts while they were in hiding. The gifts she got everyone wasn’t expensive it was more of a sentimental gift. Even though Anne is in hiding it's not going to stop her from living a normal life. The author wrote,”And now let's have a song, Father...please…”

If you should find this diary, will you please keep it safe for me , because someday I hope…”.(530).This quote represents Anne staying alive because her writing, that diary keeps her story alive, she had recorded everyday for years telling detail by detail on how it was hiding from the natizis. A way of resisting Natizis is to ¨teach in secret¨(Document 17). Both Anne writing her diary and teaching in secret are the same because while Anne was in hiding with her family and others she was keeping her diary a secret from the natizis even after she had got caught they hadn't found out about the diary until her father had published it. Anne had let out the experience of hiding from the natizis by staying alive.…

Parts of the diary were intended for public view, but others clearly were not. To appreciate and interpret the diary, it is necessary to consider its horrible context, World War II and the Holocaust, before any discussion of plot development or thematic content. My Opinion My opinion of the book report of the diary of Anne Frank is that Anne write this diary because she wants to be in the future a writer and after he died in 1945 she wants to write the diary because she wants to tell any day of her life and the other ones read about Anne Frank. That is only my opinion of the diary of Anne…
