Anne Frank possesses a multitude of traits that prove her adequacy of being a best friend. For example, Frank acquires a remarkably positive outlook on life, which is undoubtedly a valuable trait to have in a friend. Frank writes in her diary, "I can't keep that up, if I'm watched to that extent, I start by getting snappy, then unhappy, and finally I twist my heart round again, so that the bad is on the outside and the good is on the inside and keep on trying to find a way of becoming what I would like to be, and what I could be,"(268 Frank). The previous quotation showcases the effort Frank puts in to make the best of a poor situation, especially how she tries to keep her friends and family content. This drive the author has is a notable attribute to have in a companion. Next, Frank wrote her diary in 1942 through 1944 while hiding in the attic of an office building nicknamed the "Secret Annex", located in Amsterdam. At the time, Frank's secluded attic was an ideal place, compared to being dead or in a concentration camp. Personally, I wouldn't consider visiting the Secret Annex during Nazi Germany.
