During the novel The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank the main setting is the “Secret Annex”, which is not an ideal setting. The “Secret Annex” is the area were the Franks and the Van Daans were forced to hide from the Nazis during the war. First, the “Secret Annex” is faulty because the people hiding within it can be caught very easily. Living in the “Secret Annex” is risky because it is above Mr.Frank's work office and there are members of the office who are not aware that they are hiding. As Anne described, “Mr.Vossen, Ellis father, and two boys worked in the warehouse; they had not been told” (34 Frank).
