For starters, the book would incorporate different plot points and then it would proceed to turn the plot points on their head. Also, the author took great care to develop the main character and to illustrate her background and how that affected what she decided to do. To get to the point, I would recommend the novel to people between the ages of thirteen and sixteen. As a final note, the audience would enjoy reading the story, because of its playful nature and fast-paced…

I liked We Real Cool as well. The link to the poem provided in the assignment folder contained a recording of a reading by Brooks and before she reads, she speaks about the observations of young men at a pool hall that inspired the poem. I agree with your impression that the young men are filled with bravado, and yet face an uncertain future. I feel the poem holds true today as well…

For those who have not heard of this book, it follows a freshman named Charlie, through diary entries. Charlie is "Shy, Introspective, Intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward" and the story follows him as he attempts to fit in and find friends. If you have not seen the movie, go check it out! It's such an emotional journey (excuse the clichéd description). This book is roughly 230 page, which is a bit long for a petite book, however I'll definitely be able to read a decent chunk of it during the 24 hours.…

What’s good about this is that children may not realize how often they or others interrupt people who are speaking. Another important component to the story is how the author writes “I have a lot to say, and all of my words are very important to me”. This shows that the author knows that children’s own thoughts, feelings, and needs are the important to themselves. All children need to be aware that their own thoughts, feelings, and needs are important and should be respected. Also, the humor brought into the book really helps to keep the children interested and interacting with the book.…

I read about half the book before I watched the lectures on child development and was able to apply that to what I had already read, and finish the book through the lens of development. Additionally, I work with kids regularly and was able to see their behavior reflected in the lectures, and through the characters. As a child I always related to Wilbur or Fern, and saw myself in them. However, I saw myself more in Charlotte, as she cares for Wilburn and is a mother figure to many of the animals in the barn. I was able to see and understand the little lessons through the book, when Wilburn learns new words, the characters understanding the world around them.…
