Dianne Dietrich: A Logical Nomminee for the Jefferson Award.

The youth of Polk County, Wisconsin need more leaders in their community besides their parents, because they need to experience different ways of learning. The Jefferson Award from the Multiplying Good organization is for the “Individuals (who) represent the good that is happening all around us, in every community across the nation.” An individual worth noticing is Dianne Dietrich, a Premier Complex Gymnastics coach in Clear Lake, Wisconsin. The Multiplying Good organization should give the Jefferson Award to Dianne Detrich for her encouragement and patience. To prove Dianne Dietrich’s encouragement at gymnastics, when I was first learning my back handspring, a basic backward move on the floor exercise, I went for it, and something went wrong so I landed on my neck, but Dianne came over to help me by encouraging me to try again. She spotted me, and now I can do a back handspring. Without her, I probably would not have that skill. This illustrates how Dianne sets an amazing example for the next generation, by teaching them how to be great people who help others when they grow up. In the same fashion, Lilliahna Colombo, a gymnast from Dianne Dietrich’s gymnastics program in 2024, explained, “When I was struggling with my back fulls she helped encourage me by us doing drills and spotting me. It changed my point of view by showing that she cared and was willing to help me.” This illustrates how Dianne Dietrich uses encouragement to support and help the youth generation. Dianne Dietrich deserves the Jefferson Award because, of how her encouragement affects the attitude and behavior of youth. The Jefferson Award is for people who encourage youth and make an impact, much like patience. A convincing example of Dianne Dietrich’s patience is, when I was stuck on my kip, a basic mount to the uneven bars, Dianne helped and waited over the years as I struggled. She helped me by spotting my kip. Dianne had a lot of patience, but one day very randomly I did my kip, and I could tell she was so happy for me, by the way she cheered and how she hugged me. This demonstrates how Dianne leaves her mark on each student she has, and the ways she inspires her students to grow up and be just like her, with her way of helping others. Correspondingly, offering an additional memory from last year, Lilliahna Colombo states, “When I was scared to flip my Tsuk, a vault move, Dianne was patient and walked me through how to do it. This made me feel like she was a good coach because she was willing to take her time with me.” This supports the idea that
