In the short poem “Without Title” by Diane Glancy she uses certain terms and phrases to convey the theme how the past cannot be changed, forgotten, edited or erased, it can only be accepted. Some terms she used were “remember” and “shaman”. For example “ It’s hard you know without the buffalo, the shaman, the arrow, but my father went out each day to haunt as though he had them.” This shows how the shaman is who the father was once before. He remembers what he used to do after moving away from his hometown. The actions that he had done are still in his memories. It reveals how the memories from his father are still with him but he still might not have the same qualities as he had before.
