We have had numerous events in the Greater Nashville area, which have been addressed through communication and the verification of the groups’ social media accounts. Protest coordinators need to maintain communication with the communications officer or public information officer for an open dialogue. When trust is built, the protest organizer is more apt to help law enforcement identify potential issues that may present itself prior to an event. This arrangement will ensure possible threats are identified and law enforcement are more prepared and able to plan for different scenarios. “A riot is the language of the unheard”. This powerful statement was said by the late Martin Luther King Jr., and with the amount of inequality that has been seen in all areas of life (gender, racial, etc.) paired with the lack of response, it is easy to see how upping one’s protesting tactics to a level of aggressiveness can be beneficial for a movement. To start things off, equality is a characteristic that should be woven throughout every aspect of our lives without question.…
