Ava pushes hard through the water that is seeping into the cracks of the home; just putting the key in her pocket.

“I don’t know what to do!” Ava is fearful of the flood that seems to be building on the house; pushing it down as if forced to shrink. Ok, I have to get to my sister. Ava tells herself. As she looks outside the window, she can see a struggling speck in the distant water. She realizes that it must be Sophie! Ava has tripped and fell under the salty water many times, and Ava is now even wetter, exhausted and more nervous. She struggles and finally opens the slippery door handle of her home to find a LAKE of water where the street should be! She can picture houses that look like they were only a roof under the heavy water. It is pouring outside and the wind is incredible.

“Oh no! Help!” Ava hears helpless people in the distance yell. The people are treading in the water, and it seems like the flood’s just coming from nowhere. Another big wave washes the people outside under the water, and in a moment, you can see their heads bobbing up like bubbles. Meanwhile, Ava is thrown off of her feet AGAIN! This time, she

The door pushes in, creaking at the hinges loud over the crashing waves, and all Ava can see is a big, bright flash of light. As if with some amazing power, the water around her starts to pour into the door! Like it’s a pothole that leads to the gigantic ocean. Soon, a ton of the water has sucked into the door, and Ava feels herself lower onto the damp ground. She can see her town again; the lot of the flood water has vanished! She can also see the weak faces of her neighbors scuffling on the ground- trying to recollect what just happened. Ava had done it! She had stopped the flood from doing any more
