Mingyu had known Psychology wasn’t the easiest major to study, but he came to realize several months into his second year of university that he underestimated the amount of work he would be receiving. Essay after essay he had been completing all throughout autumn, and he grew tired of his routine.

Every time Junhui and him obtained a great amount of work, they would always complete (or attempt to) their assignments in Mingyu’s room due to their similar work ethics. However, Mingyu was going nowhere with his most recent paper, and the impending due date seemed to be closing in on him.

“Guys, you know I love you, but either Junhui needs to shut the hell up or Minghao needs to leave.”
“You’re just jealous,” Minghao jested, lifting his head

Junhui chuckled, “we came here ‘cause of you, you know. Don’t fall asleep on me.”
“Right, sorry”.

Pressing his lips together, Mingyu looked at their table.
“Hey, do you have The Interpretation of Dreams?”
Junhui browsed through his stack. “Mmmm, no,” he informed.

Mingyu yawned, and rose from his seat.

“K then, i’m gonna look through the books”.

Unsuccessful in finding what he was looking for, he returned to Junhui.

“It’s not there,” Mingyu sulked.
Junhui glanced up at the boy, smiling at his petulant face. Although he was pretty smart, Mingyu was such a baby sometimes.
“Try asking the librarian,” Junhui suggested.

Dragging his feet through the library, Mingyu passed by the rows of tables. More people seemed to have left, and he wondered what time the library closed.

Once the front desk was in Mingyu’s view, he slowed his steps after he took notice of the boy behind

Throughout Mark Twain’s chapter “ Dreams Dissipated,” Twain refers to a loaded topic, “the great earthquake” in San Francisco, where he uses connotative diction to discuss the elite’s reaction to the earthquake. By using connotative diction associated with immoral behavior, Twain mocks society’s behavior on idolizing the wealthy and holding the elite in high moral standards. Twain uses diction often associated with grotesque behavior or unflattering qualities such as, “fat”, “raid on their husbands’ purses”, “growled”, and “sprawling” to illustrate the wealthy’s animal-like behavior during San Francisco’s “great” earthquake. By utilizing the words “growled” and “sprawling” he portrays the elite as behaving like animals, he does this to show…

Through the juxtaposition of the 2 circumstances, he realizes he has never received ‘anything for nothing’, thus creating another connection to the quote “But you have such beautiful eyes.”. The id serves as a repository of unconscious primitive desires and impulses that are mediated by the preconscious region. The id is imagistic in nature in that repressed material is stored in the unconscious as visual perceptions, those of which are often amassed, cluttered, and disorganized. As the unconscious employs no imaginative faculty, it would be incorrect to interpret dreams simply as a stream of created images. Similarly, the images in dreams do not contain tense, nor should they be perceived as sequential. Dreams exist as expressions of the id’s internal conflicts as the repressed images that are unable to gain consciousness are brought to an individual’s awareness in disguised and distorted forms.…
