The directional strategies are mission, vision, values and strategic goals which are used as guiding strategies for making important organizational decisions. The missions are the broadly defined statements of purpose of the organization or clear articulation of what the organization currently does. A vision is an organizational hope for the future or what leaders want the organization to achieve when it is accomplishing its purpose or mission. The values are the guiding principles the leaders and employees of the organization will not compromise while they are in the process of achieving mission or vision of the organization. The strategic goals are the end results the organization pursues to accomplish it is mission and achieve its vision. …show more content…
- Involving all levels of employees in developing or updating organizational directional strategies by getting input from them and incorporating their aspirations in the directional strategies. By doing so, employees will be more willing to work to accomplish organization mission or achieve organizational vision if they know that their voice in its creation.
- Making these statements as a part of their job description, so that they take ownership.
- Leaders should use these statements as a reference in taking any organizational decisions or using them in important team

There are three different modes of governance have been applied to the board of directors which includes fiduciary board, strategic board and generate mode. In the strategic mode of governance, the members of the board are responsible for making policies and general guidelines under which organization should work to accomplish its mission and achieve its goals. So these governing boards should play an important role in establishing and pursuing directional strategies. The members of the governing board should share their experience and valuable suggestions in the development of organizational directional strategies. They should also responsible for the ensuring the organizational directional strategies are consistent with the overall aspirations of the organizations.
