The first part of the story The Lord of the Flies was really interesting and incredibly descriptive. I loved that the book described the birds having voices and communicating with each other, like humans, on page 7. When I first read the words “. . .that pilot,” on page 8, that told me that someone must have dropped Piggy off on the island, in an airplane. But the thing that really grabbed my attention was when Piggy and Ralph, started wondering if they were on an island or not, on page 14. I feel a little bad for Piggy because he’s picked on, about his name and he’s defenseless. On page 10, I found it a little graphic and disturbing, when Ralph took all of his clothes off to go swimming. But it’s also understandable, because there wasn’t anyone
