I think that Ralph and Piggy were actaully just jealous of the success of Jacks tribe. They were hungry and wanted to feel like all the boys were still peaceful.

2. Jack has finally achieved his desire for most high power. Now that he no longer has to serve under Ralph, he wants to show off how successful he is leading his own tribe.
