Diagnostic Radiologist: Personal Statement

I have always had interest in science it has been my passion since childhood. I love technology and I always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. I am fascinated with the advancement of technology used with the medical sector such as equipment used in X-ray and ultrasound. I am interested in the work radiographers do, especially the work of diagnostic radiographer does which is they use variety of equipment to diagnose and produce image of the body to treat the injuries or disease is motivating me to take up the course. Diagnostic radiography degree is combination of science and technology which is the right course and career for me because I like to put the knowledge into practice. Recently I broke my wrist, I was sent to a radiologist who used variety of equipment to identify which part of my wrist was broken. I was shown an image of my wrist on a computer I could see which part of my bone in the wrist was broken I was very fascinated with the work radiologist do. …show more content…
Through applied science I have studied wide range of different aspects in biology, chemistry and physics especially a unit in physics unit on ‘working waves’ which is connected to radiography. Which I found this unit very interesting and it’s relevant to radiography. I believe biology will help me as it helps me understanding the different structure of the human body as it is very important for a radiographer need to understand human anatomy and physiology which is basic biology which I believe I have gained the knowledge to help me for radiology degree. Overall, Applied science has gave me many skills for a degree in radiography such as time keeping and punctuality to meet deadlines, communication, teamwork to help me further in

After you go through your education, the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technologists, a national organization, will review and accredit radiologic technologists degree programs.
