An associate degree in DMS is all that is needed for entry level positions and may be obtained from several colleges natoinwide. Certain credentials need to be obtained after students complete the Associate Degree, before employment begins. There are atleast two different organizations offering the certification which include AART and ARDMS. My main reasons include, the starting salary and the pre requisites only including an associates degree. I am a mother of three and with my husband being gone constantly with the military, I dont have the luxury of schooling for several years before I start earning a legitimate salary. I have been in Finance for 8 years and have a designation of a CFP, one might think this is a prestigious career. It is, however it is not something I'm passionate about. I find myself dreading the days I have to work and instead of helping people in retirement, which was my original focus, I find myself loaded down by laws and regulation paperwork. 75 percent of my current position is behind a desk, so I'm changing my career at 37. Having a son who has was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes at age 7, has opened my eyes to the medical world and it's many many layers. Being able to help people and pro long life is something that I am excited to be a part
