The start of sophomore year just like any other year teachers gave you the syllabus to read and sign it, but we all know we don't read it we just sign it and make our parents sign it also. When in reality,it's really important because it tells you the expectations and the rules about this upcoming year of school. The three of the topics I'm gonna cover are Rules and Expectations,Attendance and Make-Up work, and Grading Policy. Rules and Expectations are a big deal. Many students don't follow some of these rules. For example,no cell phones during class and wearing your lanyard during school hours are the most important ones. The more you miss school the harder it is for you to graduate. Whenever you're absent, it's really important that your parents call the office because make-up work is only allowed with excused absences. If we miss school, it's our responsibility to get the work done. For example,if you miss one day you have,one day to make it up. Let's assume that you miss class the day we have a Test, Quiz, or the Writing Workshop is our responsibility to show up to the session that is held once a week. Grading Policy is the alarming one of all. We usually panic when we go through the syllabus and find the way the teacher grades the assignments. Many classes give out a ton of extra credit,but in English it's really rare, it's only given each quarter it depends on the teacher you have. Many of us always like to check how are grades are going,HAC is updated weekly with this class. Whenever we do an essay, it takes a little bit longer it usually takes 2 weeks to enter it. Our class syllabus is really important,especially Rules and Expectations, Attendance and Make-Up Work,and Grading Policy. This tells you what we are doing this upcoming school year. By reading the syllabus I understand the expectations and rules, therefore I should follow
