To be diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder a person needs to have all of the following:re-experiencing, avoidance, alteration of mood, and hyper arousal. Mr Shackleford mentioned that he has been feeling depressed over the last few weeks and that he has lost his motivation to get up out of bed. He isn 't exactly sure why he is feeling this way. I feel that I wouldn 't diagnosis him with derision disorder because if his PTSD is under control and no longer causing him to have OCD and specific phobia as extreme. I feel that anyone would feel depressed when living a life that causes you to wash your hands 3 times an hour and rub your hands for thirty minutes an hour. So I would say he has slight depression, but the other three disorders out shine the depression. But the depression could be taken care of if the other three diagnoses are taken care of. Generalized anxiety disorder has many symptoms. The major one is worry. Mr. Shackleford worries about being dirty and having things remind him of being deployed. The reason I ruled this one out is because the other symptoms are excessive or uncontrollable worry across multiple areas more days than most and somatic symptoms to stress. Mr. Shackleford doesn 't mention that stress increases his feeling/mood. So GAD does fit Mr. Shackleford, but I feel that there is a better diagnosis that gives a better explanation for why he acts and responds to certain objects in that
