Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder where sufferers have musculoskeletal pain and issues with mood, fatigue and sleeping at night. Pain is almost always widespread; a fibromyalgia sufferer’s pain can be triggered by even the slightest of touches. Symptoms can appear after surgery, infection, physical trauma or severe stress. Women are more likely than men to develop the disease and, while there is currently no cure, it can be controlled.
