(i) Diageo is a well-known British multinational company which was ranked 6th on the list of “Great Place to Work” 2015. Diageo is the largest producer of spirits. With 597 employees in Ireland and more than 33,000 employees worldwide dispersed among different brands. Diageo has many brands involved in the company, such a Smirnoff, Tanqueray, Guinness etc. These brands together make up Diageo, which means there are many different companies involved and many different products and brands.
Diageo itself was created in 1997, but many of its distilleries were created before that, such as Guinness in 1759. The company was created through the merger of Guinness and the Grand Metropolitan. At the time of this merge, it was involved in the

From 2000 to 2002, Diageo decided to sell its food interests, which included their two largest, Burger King and Pillsbury so that they could focus their business on premium drinks. In 2001, Diageo acquired the Seagrams wine and spirits business which expanded their acquisition range. Diageo has many brands, including Smirnoff, Captain Morgen, Baileys, Guinness, Cîroc and many more. It is now known worldwide and creates awareness for responsible drinking.
The Organisational Strategy that I think is most applicable to Diageo is ‘Differentiation’. This strategy aims to create, develop and market products for different customer segments such as, preference of drinks for each customer or age group. The HR strategy for Diageo is ‘Facilitation’. Facilitation is a process that trainers, team builders, meeting leaders, managers, and communicators use to meet the needs of an individual, group or team within the organisation. Diageo show their long term focus as they talk about how they are looking for employees who “succeed in the organisation today but also have the potential to be leaders” as they desire their new employees to become greater within the organisation and move up over the years to
