Within the study, only the pharmacist would know that Group A medication is metformin, Group B medication is canagliflozin and Group C medication is empagliflozin. The pharmacist will then delivered the medications up to the administrators. There will be three administrators per hospital and the administrators will all be physicians assistant to keep it consistent between study sites. Each administrator will be assigned a study group to oversee and follow-up with for the duration of the study. The administrators’ primary job is to provide to their group the appropriate medication and take measurements during their patients’ weekly visit. In this study, the administrators and the patients will not know what type of medication is given or being taken.
