The man walked into the bank with a gun and demanded 20,000 dollars. This is one example of deviance and is a blue collar crime. This is a blue collar crime because it was violent and it was a street crime. This was considered deviance because even though he wanted to help his daughter, he went about it in the wrong way. Even though what he did was wrong the man felt that it had to be done for his daughter. Now some people say they should freed the man. In a video online the man asks his lawyer when he was going to get out. This shows that in his mind he felt he didn’t do anything wrong, there is something wrong with his conscious in my opinion.
To sum up, there are two different crimes blue collar and white collar crimes. I hope you have a better understanding as to why white collar crimes are harder to prosecute in court. White collar criminals tend to get better treatment in prison because they are not in there with violent offender. The prison puts them with lesser violent criminals with similar crimes as them.
