The main concept that is often associated with Internationalist perspective of deviance, is cultural transmission. Cultural Transmission mainly points out that one learns criminal behavior mainly by learning it from others. Such learning teaches kids not only how to break the law but also why so many criminals do break the law. Conflict perspective of deviance according to Richard T. Schafere “is to point out that people with power protect their own interest and define deviance to suit their own needs” Conflict theorist truly believe that criminal law does not show any logical functions when it comes to societal values. Many conflict theorist also believe that the criminal justice system in the US treats people who have been accused of a crime mainly by their race, ethnicity and or social class. My ascribed status is that I am a 27 years old male. My ethnic backgrounds are Egyptian and also Italian. An ascribe status will never take into account a persons talents.
