Developmentally Appropriate Teaching Standards

It is important the all standards are taught. We as teachers can not pick and choose which of the standards we want to teach. That is just not an option at all. It is our responsibility to teach all standards to better prepare our students for future classes. We must honor the intent of these standards. There are several factors that must be considered when placing standards in a specific order. One of these includes developmentally appropriate practices. You must know your students. As the teacher, you want to have an appropriate lesson for the age and gender of the children in your room. As our instructor pointed out that a 1st-grade male should not be taught the same as a middle school girl. They should be taught at their own developmental
