I believe that the differences in our responses to the performance task of taking care of ourselves, result from the way that we each see the tasks that fall under this category. I see these tasks as an opportunity to have some time to relax, either before I start my day or at the end of it, my father does anything expect relax when doing these tasks. He sees these tasks as time slots. When he needs to do these tasks that he already believes are unimportant, that he could be and should be doing something else. While is washing his face, he thinks of all the things that he needs to do that morning or what he needs to do before he goes to bed and these tasks take up time he could be doing that.…

Time use limits our occupational performance and participation as occupational beings. However, as occupational beings, we are forced to prioritize our time use, which results in occupational balance or imbalance. Meyer (1922), another large contributor to our community of knowledge, discusses time use in great depth in his work The Philosophy of Occupational Therapy. Meyer argues that the proper use of time in human health and well-being is split between all of the occupations that have meaning to us; that we feel accomplishment and self-worth from. Meyer states that “man learns to organize time and he does it in terms of doing things, and one of the many good things he does between eating, drinking and wholesome nutrition generally and flight…

Thus far, I have learned many important aspects of becoming an effective therapist. One of the major parts of training involves evaluation and feedback from supervisors or peers. I think evaluations are an important part of training because it provides feedback to areas, which you are doing well in, and areas in which you will need improvement. I believe that without evaluations, we as therapist cannot grow into effective therapist. To date I cannot think of any job or career that does not use “end of the year evaluations”.…

However, it is important throughout each stage of professional development to have the skill of explaining our beliefs and rationale in a fluid, understandable manner. This means the way at which infants receive, process, and organize information gathered from their senses (“Infant Toddler,” 2012). Throughout the observation, the infant often imitated the teacher roaring, playing peek-a-boo, and bye-bye. The infant was also capable of distinguishing between whether or not an object was still present when hidden behind the teacher. The infant would move the teacher’s body part out of the way to see the object, which demonstrates an understanding of object permanence (“Infant Toddler,” 2012). The infant was also able to perceive the teacher’s intentions with different toys.…
