All four models are still relevant fifty years later. He outlined the framework for successful client-centered case, consultee-centered case, program-centered administrative, and consultee-centered administrative consultations (Brown, Pryzwansky, & Schulte, 2011). Additionally, as a consultant must be aware of environmental and societal norms that are in play within any of the four types of consultations. Finally, the goal of a consultant is to improve the situation in all four types of Caplan’s consultation models.
