W.W. Jacob’s short story “The Monkey’s Paw”, showed the devastation and suffering when one tries to control their own fate. The White family suffered severe misery throughout this short story. But who is to blame? Many people are to blame for the sorrow and misery the Monkey’s Paw allocated, but the person who started all of this pain for the White family is Sergeant-Major Morris, because he as the one who brought the paw to the family, he made the paw seem interesting, and because he was als was the one who showed the White family how to use the Monkey’s Paw.
