vEvaluation of self-management plan

First off I like that getting a grade for this kept me accountable for being motivated in following through with my interventions. I have tried to stop biting my nails many times, but always stopped when I was just too stressed to stop. I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t bite my nails when I was stressed I had to find other replacement behaviors to channel that into that was not distracting me from my work. It was hard they say old habits die hard and I know that statement to be completely true. With the first intervention I wasn’t successful at all in changing my nail biting behavior. The second intervention was more successful. I brought out this disgusting no bite nail polish. Now the reason the numbers

As a whole, the class average was around 60% percent, meaning the class is on the developing or adequate level of understanding the learning objective. A quarter of the class passed the assessment with 85 or better, which is considered a mastery under the math curriculum followed. Half the class scored a 65 or less. This shows that these students have a minimal to no understanding of the concept being taught. 8 out of the sixteen students understood procedurally and conceptually how to compare to objects with a third object.…

As I began the second advisory, I started off very strong and ahead of the game. I was doing all my work and completing what I needed to receive a good grade. This was a result of me trying to keep up with my goals for the upcoming advisory too. I had left on with a B- last advisory and now that has dropped significantly. I am completely disappointed with my grade because these are not the grades I receive on a regular basis in school.…

In my science class we were assigned an assignment on gas planets. My teacher asked us to make a travel brochure on a gas planet. The expectation was that we needed to have overall brochure planet information, a life support system (hotel design), an alien drawing with a description, travel time, and a good effort and design. This assignment related to other assignments we had been given because we were previously learning about the solar system. The point of this assignment was to get a better understanding of the gas planets and to see if we would have what it takes for humans to survive on the gas planet we chose.…

Good morning, I am writing you today because I am concerned about my final grade. I was looking at my grade on blackboard, and my participation grade is 10 out of 10 points; instead of 20 out of 20 points; based on what the syllabus reads. Also, my finial paper is not graded on blackboard. On the syllabus, it says the course is out of 400 points total. I do not understand how my grades are added in blackboard.…

Why are some people successful and some people not? This question has been thrown around for decades and yet no one could pinpoint the exact reason some people became rich and famous and some were stuck in terrible situations that they could not escape. It all eventually boiled down to one word… Grit. This theory created in 1907 by William James, an American philosopher and psychologist, is now the focal point of many philosophers and scientists thoughts. One psychologist in particular Angela Duckworth, now the so called “ambassador of Grit” , was very inspired by this theory and made it her life’s work.…

The main focus of this experiment is the self-fulfilling prophecy. It is described as the concept that if we expect something to happen in a certain way our expectation will tend to make it so. In this study, Robert Rosenthal focuses on how self-fulfilling biases and expectancies occur in school classrooms. Rosenthal suspected that when an elementary teacher is provided with information that shows that some students are more intelligent than others, the teacher may behave in ways unknowingly that can encourage the performance of the “intelligent” students, causing them to excel. Rosenthal tested his hypothesis with the cooperation of the Oak School administration.…

Halfway through my first semester at UCF, I feel a lot less optimistic than I did when first starting out. As a starry-eyed freshman, I was determined to do my absolute best, but I’ve somehow lost sight of that goal along the way, preferring to binge-watch Japanese shows, write song lyrics, avoid doing laundry, and order things I really don’t need from eBay. Since I find that extremely entertaining, it’s also become quite obvious that my sense of humor has deteriorated to nothing. However, I have still managed to achieve most of my more concrete academic goals, such as maintaining my GPA and choosing a major.…

According to Slentz, a middle school language art middle school teacher, after seeing a survey that indicated grades are powerful motivators for students, and reading research on motivation that said pupils benefit from having a certain amount of feedback and control, she went to work. She created a system using Excel through which students not only could track their grades, but also use their gradebooks to determine how not completing an assignment would lower their grade, or how much redoing their work could improve their grade. (Slentz, n.d) Basing grades on a simple percentage of points earned, students are taught the simple process of using Excel to calculate percentages. Printing their progress reports, with recommended goals for improvement,…

As we near the end of this spring semester, we should now take some and evaluate if any improvements were made between the first and second half of the semester, as well as some goals that you didn’t quite reach. Looking specifically at my participation for the last half of this class, I can definitely see the continuation of my responsibility and work ethic in how I completed my assignments and conduct myself that I exhibited in the first semester. However, I also have to admit to myself that I still could have done better in the areas that I said I was going to improve in within the last checklist paper. Based on this, as well as filling out the guidelines checklist and seeing where I fall in each category, I believe that I deserve twenty-three…

Self-discipline was hard to overcome because I would rather go out to hang out with friends instead of doing homework. There were some days that I would stay up until two o’clock the next morning more doing homework for class. Time management wasn’t an easy obstacle to accomplish due to that there was no set schedule for me to complete the necessary tasks, such as homework for either English or AAA 109. I improved my student habits by using a day planner to set time aside to do certain assignments for school and prioritize non-related school tasks. I do homework first before going out with my friends.…
