This is why I am currently a working, full time student, wife, and mother. I was not able to go to school right after high school because I chose marriage and children. Now at age thirty-seven, I am working hard toward a career that will better support my family financially. Most companies are not very forgiving to families. Daycare and schools will call you if your child has a fever or a virus and instruct you that they need to be picked up immediately. In most places of work this would be frowned upon and only tolerated a limited amount of times. If your family support system is small this may be a struggle for you. Although having a child with genetic disabilities is small, many people choose to not have children or terminate pregnancies due to this reason.
