Determinism brings credibility from several aspects, whether it be the DNA which codes our biological composition, the divine being, or law that dictates our values and decisions, it says if the variables are put in place thus are decisions follow suit and are then decided for us. “It has been argued that in a deterministic universe, no one has any reason to do anything.” (Jeppsson, S. 2016.), This is a major plight to determinism; determinism and nihilism run in tandem.
Libertarianism finds its value in the ability of choice; this ability is empowering man to decide “his” life. Choice is the key notion which is hard to prove yet hard to disprove, yes, choice is subject to bias and predisposition yet is it decided for you?
