The fact that they prefer to work alone is indicative of their common need assure the safety of others before themselves. Nonetheless, both heroes are willing to form alliances with others if the situation presents itself. Batman has had sidekicks in the past, including several different boys who went by Robin, several different girls who assumed the name Batgirl, and various other teenaged companions. Batman is also involved in the leadership of the Justice League, the ultimate network of superheroes in his universe. However, it is clear that he struggles to accept these roles. He is inclined to simply do everything himself; in fact, this is the very reason the original Robin left Batman to become a founding member of the Teen Titans. Elementa, for her part, has never had a sidekick. She has expressed mild interest in joining a league of fellow superheroes, but on the condition that the league approaches her with an invitation only if the situation is dire and she is genuinely needed. Examples of these gadgets include batarangs, the batclaw, the bat-grapple, and the batmobile. It is due solely to the wealth of Bruce’s family that he was able to create his heroic persona. On the other hand, Jasmine grew up in an impoverished foster family. She has been homeless in the past, and she is only barely able to maintain her current residence. Fortunately, she possesses the natural ability to control the four traditional elements: fire, wind, water, and air. If this were not the case, Jasmine would not have the means to be a superhero at all, let alone purchase specialized technology and travel the world to train as Batman
