Determination is the ability show persistence or the will power to achieve something, however, true determination is easily abandoned. Determination is what people use to achieve their goals, whether its school or Christian life. Not only do you receive the satisfaction of completing your goal but the personal satisfaction of completing it by yourself, through many obstacles. Determination has been a helpful tool in creating some of the greatest contributions to the world. A few people who showed true determination are the late steve jobs, who, after being fired from his own company came back to introduce many amazing and successful technologies. Thomas Edison who had failed thousands of time before creating the light bulb. President Roosevelt who was partly paralyzed due to polio, and thus was still determined to run the Country. Determination can also be seen throughout the Bible as well as our Christian lives. 2 Timothy 4:7 to fight the good fight against sin and evil, to finish the race by completing your Christian goals, and to keep the faith in times of doubt. Another example of determination in the Bible is the story of Noah, who was mocked because of his warning of the flood and yet still managed to load two of every animal on the ark. Fasting was also a huge test of true determination. Determination is the ability to use one's own willpower to achieve your goals, especially in our Christian

In his speech The Perils of Indifference, Elie Wiesel, a man of Jewish descent who lived through the holocaust, adjured President Bill Clinton, along with his wife Hillary Clinton and a joint session of congress. Throughout the piece Wiesel stuck to a single theme with a grim determination born of experience: to constantly be aware of and fight evil. The speech reads as a piece of persuasion, dedicated to convincing both the legislative and executive branches of the United States’ government not to get comfortable in the relative peace that marked the Clinton years in the white house. Wiesel’s perspective was forged in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany, and he speaks as one who has known the evil he now speaks out against.…

The story I found determination in was “Gamers to the End” and a video called “Backwards Brain Bicycle”. “Backwards Brain Bicycle” is about a guy that learns how to ride a backwards bicycle. He demonstrates determination because the guy says “I practiced for 8 months, and 5 minutes every day.”…

Some people believe its occurrence was an essential evil that aided in creating developed countries that help advance the world technologically. To others, it is a distant happening because they would consider it as something ancient that occurred under a different set of cultural norms and with a different generation of individuals, while others think of colonization and slave trade as one of the worst injustices experienced by humanity. Whether colonization is acknowledged or not, there is no doubt that it has played, and continues to play, a huge part in the state in which society is in today. Self-interest is the pursuit of one’s own desires, or the pursuit of a desirable outcome for one’s self. Conversely, Yeshua’s teachings call for self-sacrifice, the act of giving up your own will by the pursuit of someone else’s (or God’s will). Additionally, Yeshua’s preaching called for living lives of altruistic love, love for others (and for God) that supersedes the love for one’s self and the love for earthly desires. On the basis of these philosophical ideas defined, it is clear to say that self-interest is not part of the prescription for living a proper Christian life, a life that falls in line with the teachings of Yeshua instead requires self-sacrifice and altruistic love. In this essay, by means of biblical account and practical…
